We are proud and excited to announce the appointment of leading constitutional lawyer, Jonathan W. Emord, Esq., as ANH-USA’s General Counsel. Jonathan is a seasoned veteran with an unparalleled track record of success challenging the FDA, six times on behalf of ANH, earning him the moniker, the “FDA Dragon Slayer.”

With nearly four decades of experience standing up to federal agencies threatening our health choices, Jonathan will help ANH-USA leverage the recent, historic Supreme Court decision that overturned the Chevron doctrine into concrete victories for natural health access.

This decision opens up many exciting possibilities, and we are thrilled to have Jonathan join our team to make the most of this new legal landscape, at a time when our rights and freedoms are increasingly threatened by a trend towards the centralization of power and the influence of supranational bodies.

EMORD APPOINTED GENERAL COUNSEL OF ANH-USA

On July 16, 2024, Martindale-Hubbell AV-rated (highest in legal ability and ethics) constitutional lawyer Jonathan W. Emord was appointed by the Alliance for Natural Health (ANH) USA Board of Directors as the organization’s new General Counsel.  He will spearhead litigation for the group against federal government agencies that deprive Americans of their rights to health freedom. Emord was also appointed to the ANH-USA Board of Directors.  Separately, he will continue his constitutional law practice and will also serve as Vice President—Legal, director and shareholder of a soon-to-be-launched transatlantic consultancy service, with offices in both the US and UK.

Emord has a long and unique track record of victories over the FDA on constitutional grounds, eight times in federal court, more than any other attorney in American history.  He is the author of five critically acclaimed books on constitutional and regulatory law, including his most recent, The Authoritarians. He is also a columnist for Townhall.com, PJMedia.com, and USA Today Magazine and frequently appears on national radio and television.

“It is an incredible honor to have Jonathan join our team as General Counsel, rather than in his previous role with us as external counsel,” said ANH-USA Executive & Scientific Director, Robert Verkerk, Ph.D. He continued: “Having seized the opportunity to open the door to free speech for natural product claims nearly 30 years ago, and with an unparalleled track record in lawsuits against the FDA and federal overreach since, there is no one better than Jonathan Emord to head our legal strategy and actions. The gathering pace of globalization and centralized protection of big corporate interests, coupled with the recent overturning of the Chevron doctrine, point to this being a critical time for concerted action to protect health freedom and related rights.”

In response to his appointment, Emord said, “For decades I have had the honor of working with Dr. Robert Verkerk and President of ANH-USA, Ronald Hoffman, M.D.  Both are well-known to the natural health industry and are pioneers in their respective fields.  Dr. Verkerk, who is also the founder of the UK-based ANH International, has over two decades of experience on both sides of the Atlantic challenging restrictions on rights and liberties as they relate to natural health. It is my distinct privilege to work at his side in advancing the ANH-USA mission.”

Emord joins ANH at an opportune moment following the Supreme Court’s landmark decision in Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo, toppling the Chevron doctrine whereby U.S. regulatory agencies were given broad deference by the Courts to impose limits on individual freedoms.

“Under Dr. Verkerk’s leadership, ANH will litigate in the post-Chevron era to break down regulatory barriers that violate freedom of speech, deprive Americans of due process, and impose arbitrary and capricious barriers on access to information, products and services,” said Emord.

To support ANH-USA litigation efforts, individuals are urged to make tax deductible donations through the ANH-USA website: anh-usa.org.  Funds are urgently needed on or before August 15 to support the first round of ANH-USA litigation against FDA and FTC.

END.
