Overview:
The Alliance for Natural Health USA (ANH-USA) is seeking a student or graduate for a membership and development internship.
We are a non-profit, 501(c)4, political advocacy organization working to protect access to natural health treatment options. ANH-USA protects access to integrative medicine by lobbying Congress and state legislatures; acting as a government watchdog; filing comments on proposed Administrative rulings; educating the public, press, and decision-makers on integrative medicine; initiating legal activities (e.g., lawsuits, amicus briefs, petitions); and joining and forming significant coalitions.
ANH-USA is a great place to gain experience in non-profit development. Our office, located in Washington, DC, is casual and friendly.
Responsibilities:
The intern will learn how a non-profit organization uses low-cost activities to reach a wider audience, grow membership, and retain current members. The intern will learn how to motivate supporters to become engaged activists and active donors. The intern will work closely with our Membership Director.
The intern’s job duties may include:
- Update website content;

Depending on the intern’s experience and the organization’s needs, the marketing intern may assist with a variety of daily projects or may propose a large project which spans the duration of the internship.
The internship is unpaid and is intended to run for approximately three months. Applicants should have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills, and a personal interest in natural health policy issues. A working knowledge of online research and MS Office software is required. Preference will be given to applicants with a degree in marketing, sociology, or a related field.
