We’re excited to announce the unveiling of My Health Alliance, the brainchild of the Organic & Natural Health Association, involving six other organizations: ourselves at the Alliance for Natural Health, the American Grassfed Association, Moms Across America, Organic Consumers Association, along with Natural Grocers and the natural products trade association, SENPA.

The combined might of the Big Food, Big Pharma, Big Ag, and Big Biotech now presents a major and unprecedented threat to the integrity and quality of our food supply. Tentacles of these super-industries exert immense lobbying power on Capitol Hill and exploit revolving doors with US regulatory agencies (including the FDA, FTC, EPA, and USDA) and ultimately compromise the health of millions of Americans.
Knowing that we can be even stronger when we stand together, we will be activating a network that numbers more than 4.5 million people to push the needle on a range of critical issues affecting nutrition and health.
The organizations came together at the 10th Annual Conference of the Organic & Natural Health Association at the Cape Coral Westin in Florida on January 23-25 to discuss if and how they might collaborate.
“The health of the public is being hit from multiple angles, and not only is government not doing much about, it’s actively working against the public interest to the benefit of some of the biggest corporations on the planet,” said Rob Verkerk, Ph.D., ANH executive & scientific director, reflecting on the ground-breaking meeting in Cape Coral.
He added, “Under the watchful eyes of the FDA and USDA, our food supply is being infiltrated by synthetic biology products and contaminated by additives, then labeled “safe” with no data. The FDA then encourages big corporations to lay claim on natural medicines, and routinely green-lights synthetic additives that are known to have health concerns, some of which have been shown to be cancer-causing. And let’s not forget how the FTC is actively working to limit free speech on natural health while Big Social censors more and more posts that don’t comply with mainstream medical views. You have to look at the threats from all angles to see just how problematic they are if we’re to create healthy societies.”
An example of how the biotech industry is side-stepping any requirement to prove safety and protect consumers is the case of the new ‘cultured milk’ product, Bored Cow, that’s promoted as being “real dairy, but without the cow.” Actually, it couldn’t be further from the truth, as revealed by the fantastic detective work of ex-NIH scientist and ANH friend, John Fagan Ph.D., co-author of GMO Myths & Truths.
Dig a bit deeper and you’ll find that Bored Cow is a non-animal whey protein that is suitable for vegans. What it really is, however, is a synthetic biology (‘syn-bio’) product created by industrial culturing of genetically engineered fungal cells that have been coded to produce whey protein. The problem is you end up with much more than just bored cows.
What John Fagan has found from his full-spectrum analysis by quadrupole mass spectrometry is that you don’t get a lot of the healthy fats and immune-enhancing proteins and co-factors that you find in real milk, and you get a clutch of compounds that are most definitely toxic or inflammatory. But there’s more still. Dr Fagan has found 92 compounds in Bored Cow that are entirely new to science. They are likely fungal metabolites and no-one is in a position to call these compounds safe. In fact, if anything is to be learned from centuries of knowledge of toxicology, if we have haven’t had significant, or indeed any, previous exposure to particular chemicals during the course of our evolution, such chemicals are much more likely to be harmful than helpful.
The FDA’s blind embrace of biotechnology in the food supply is just one issue of huge concern to those of us who have come together under the banner of My Health Alliance—and, in fact, anyone with a passion for, or interest in, natural health.

I deeply appreciate all your organizations efforts to keep our food supply safe and doing your best to keep our access to health care supplements.
One thing I don’t see mentioned is the looming World Health Organization (WHO) treaty, set to be finalized in May this year, that has to potential to permanently wipe out all your wonderful efforts by stamping out freedom of choice across the board in all our lives and mandating things that none of us want and that will not support health but degrade it and make us dependent on Big Pharma for every “healthcare” need. This is a horrific juggernaut that must be stopped.
