Celebrating the life and work of a natural health champion.

Senator Orrin Hatch passed away on April 23, 2022 at the age of 88. He was the longest serving Republican Senator in U.S. history, spending over four decades defending Americans’ ability to stay healthy with natural products before retiring in 2019.

Sen. Hatch was author and cosponsor of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994, a law that has allowed Americans to access a wide range of quality dietary supplements. This landmark legislation was one of many actions he led to support access to natural health. Hatch worked to get the FDA to withdraw the initial New Dietary Ingredient (NDI) guidance issued in 2011, stood up to Sen. Dick Durbin’s (D-IL) efforts to institute supplement policies that would restrict access, and introduced legislation to broaden access through HSA coverage.

Sen. Hatch was a true champion of natural health, and he will be sorely missed.
